Anne Patrick grew up in rural Troup County Georgia in severe poverty. Anne and her brothers worked hard and success followed, but Anne never forgot her roots.
After getting her teaching degree, she starting giving back. She taught acceptance to her children when they made fun of the poor kids in her class. She continued to give back by going on mission trips and Anne tells some great stories from those trips.
At age 60, she started running and “caught the bug” and still runs today, 20 years later.
With her race experience, she started the Wonderful Days of Winter 5k, that is held the first Saturday after New Years from St. James Episcopal Church on the Marietta Square.
Wonderful Days preschool is small but highly successful school that prepares underprovledged, mostly hispanic children for elementary school.
